Carla Marie Williams, a songwriter from Harlesden has written a second song for Beyonce.
BBC Radio 1xtra’s DJ Target chatted over the phone with Carla from Los Angeles. The build up to not knowing if her song ‘Freedom’, which features Kendrick Lamar, would appear on Beyonce’s new album was ‘nerve-racking’ and felt like ‘having a baby’. The Harlesden songwriter said though Beyonce has the presence of a superstar, her vibe was all about the music.
The Brit nominated smash, ‘Runnin’, by Beyonce, was also written by Carla, but it doesn’t end there, other acts she’s penned for include Girls Aloud, The Saturdays and Alesha Dixon.
