Chris Hudson, backer of Willesden Centre for Health and Care may have transferred tax payers money into secret offshore entity.
Panorama revealed that, Willesden Centre for Health and Care had some of its tax payer funds moved by Hudson, to a secret Panamanian account.
“The files reportedly show he used 115,000 euros from the foundation to put a down payment on a Boeing 747 for a business venture – something he denies.”
‘It follows the leak of the Panama Papers – 11million files that revealed how 72 current or former heads of state have links to one of the world’s most secretive companies.’
This news comes at a time when Willesden Centre for Health and Care has been criticised for being understaffed and poorly managed. Patients have complained that it is impossible to book an appointment. When phoning the hospital (which is the only way to contact them) no one ever picks up… ever! Patients are left hanging on the line until its annoying outgoing greeting kicks in.
This is a good example of inequality in Brent, where vulnerable patients are unable to use the public services that they depend on; but backers of these services can buy Jumbo jets with public funds that were meant for public services.
